Spectroscopic studies of preparation conditions role on the shielding properties of MoO3-doped Na2O–ZnO–P2O5

Abstract Glassy samples from the undoped ternary system Na 2 O–ZnO–P O 5 in combination with other same doped variable amounts of MoO 3 (0.25, 0.5, or 1 gm/batch) were successfully melted under ordinary, oxidizing, reducing conditions followed by annealing. Fourier transform infrared spectrophotometric measurements optical absorption spectra recorded before and after doping concentrations multiple melting media both as prepared being subjected to (8 Mrad) gamma irradiation dose. The studied spectral properties glasses correlated variations existing valence state Mo ions effects on IR vibrational bands together role condition batches. reveal pronounced UV visible due trace iron (Fe 3+ ) impurities sharing low states added molybdenum ions. FTIR peaks show condensed phosphate groups (Q , Q ), dopant are limited because percent. Gamma causes distinct spectra, but -doped some shielding behavior.
